Positive Hope Scholar Award

The Positive Hope Scholar Award is for minority high school seniors from Washington, DC who will pursue undergraduate degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.  It is awarded in the amount of $500.00 per student per school year.

Eligibility Criteria

Minority, high school seniors from Washington, DC who will pursue undergraduate degrees in any field of study Historically Black Colleges or Universities are eligible for the Positive Hope Scholar Award.

Specific Criteria Used to Select Recipients

Recipients of the Positive Hope Scholar Award will be selected based upon the following criteria:

  1. Applicant must be a minority, high school senior from Washington, DC who has been accepted into and will attend an undergraduate program at a Historically Black College or University.
  2. Applicant must be in good academic standing, with a minimum 2.5 G.P.A.
  3. Applicant must provide proof of financial need (SAR from the FAFSA).
  4. Applicant must demonstrate evidence of leadership and a commitment to the community through volunteerism.
